Old Boma Museum is located in the Old German Boma. This museum has lots of information about Tanzania’s history, culture and geography. Each building has its own unique exhibition. You can find famous remains from the Olduvai Gorge, wildlife, local tribes and a small botanical garden. The first building explores mankind and nature. The second one explores the history of German colonialism and history of Boma while the third building has a photo exhibition and stuffed animals. There is also a small art gallery at the back with exceptional masterpieces.

Olduvai Gorge Museum is located at the excavation site of Olduvai Gorge near Laetoli Footprints site. The museum gives an insight into the history of mankind. The Arusha Declaration Museum opened in 1977 and is located on Kaloleni Road. Most of the exhibits in the museum are in form of photos and they’re very interesting to look at. There are also a few statues and models on display. This museum is very informative with multiple documents explaining Tanzania’s past.
Although a few might argue that this isn’t exactly a museum and more of a shopping spot, it does contain everything you need to know about the history of the unique Tanzanite gem that can only be found in Tanzania. Here, you can discover how the rare and magnificent tanzanite is mined, cut, polished and created. Established in 1994, The Cultural Heritage Center is a must-visit. The architectural designs and the artwork exhibit the rich history culture of the region. It has a unique art gallery with antique African carvings, masks, and paintings. It also serves as a one-stop shopping center where you can buy souvenirs, clothing, sculptures, paintings, jewelry, or even kitchen utensils.
